Who we are

The staff of the editorial office come from different professions and different countries; they belong to different generations and have different political views. We are united by the wish to contribute to an open, honest and constructive discussion in our society. This is why we founded the "Verein Schweizer Standpunkt" to establish a platform for an online publication. (see below: Purpose clause)

Our aim is to add a distinctive "Swiss Standpoint" to the journalistic field. see: Why Swiss Standpoint? We are of the opinion that a "Swiss Standpoint" not only opens the perspective for solutions in conflicts but can also lead to a consensus-oriented approach. We publish up-to-date, in-depth and interdisciplinary contributions from different perspectives in order to broaden the basis for discussion and argumentation. We maintain the principle of contributing to the common good.

Jean-Paul Vuilleumier has made himself available as editor-in-chief for "Schweizer Standpunkt". He can look back on many years’ experience as editor-in-chief of "Horizons et débats", the French edition of the Swiss newspaper "Zeit-Fragen".

3. Purpose

The association intends to issue an online publication that is financially and politically independent. The multilingual publication covers a wide range of contemporary issues. The individual and the common good serve as a benchmark.

Fundamental values such as freedom of opinion, human dignity, human rights and what humanity has achieved so far in terms of international law and humanitarian rules, the principles of the rule of law and democratic forms of community should serve as the basis for this online publication.

On this basis, the association promotes exchange and cooperation at local, national and international level. To this end, the association may organise and carry out all activities related to this purpose, in particular lectures, seminars, conferences, etc.
